Payment of fees

If the student chooses to pay in full at the time of enrolment they may be eligible for an Early Payer Discount (EPD) of £300 if the following conditions are met:

  • The student is enrolled on a full-time undergraduate course studying, and paying for, 120 credits in a year, and paying the fee themselves.
Or,
  • The student is enrolled as a full-time student on a postgraduate course, paying for the full 180 credit fee in year 1, and paying the fee themselves.

Fees must be paid in full no later than 14 calendar days after the start date of their course as indicated on their academic record.

  • If the student is in receipt of the SLC Tuition Fee Grant they are not eligible for the discount.
  • EPD is only applicable to those students not in receipt of other scholarships, bursaries and discounts with the exception of the International scholarship initiative.
  • If a student is on a placement year, EPD does not apply to placement fees.
  • Any student due a reduction in annual tuition fee due to discontinuation will no longer be eligible for Early Payer Discount.

Payment Options

These payment options relate to students who are responsible for paying all or part of their fees and are available to all students or those paying on behalf of students (excluding sponsors – please see Sponsored Students information for further details).

The University of South Wales offers online debit/credit card payments, Direct Debit and Recurring Card Payments for Tuition & Accommodation Fees.

Online Payments

Full or part payments can be made using debit or credit cards using the online payment system. These payments can be made by the student or on behalf of the student. In order to access the Online Payment option you will need the relevant student ID number and the student date of birth.

Recurring Card or Direct Debit payments

Payment plans are accepted for Tuition and Accommodation Fees which can be paid by the student or by an individual on behalf of a student.
The standard payment plan for Tuition Fees is based on a maximum of seven equal monthly instalments. The seven month instalments will commence in October or February depending on course start date.
The standard payment plan for Accommodation Fees is one payment per terms, payment taken on specified dates.
There is no additional charge for this facility. In order to access the online payment system you will need the relevant student ID number and the student date of birth.

Tuition Fee Loans or Student Loan Company Payments

If you have applied for student finance, please ensure that you provide your Student Support Number at enrolment and that you have signed your online declaration and returned it to Student Finance.

Students from Countries outside the EU

Before the University is able to formally enrol you as a student you will need to either:
• Have paid the amount specified on your offer letter
• Be in a position to pay the amount specified on your offer letter through the online enrolment service
• Produce evidence that arrangements have been made to pay your tuition fees

If you or your family are paying your own fees you can make a payment using the Online Payment facility before you arrive in the UK. If you are in the UK and have a credit or debit card you may also make an Online Payment . You will only be able to enrol once payment for Tuition Fees has been made in accordance with your offer letter.

American Express cards are only accepted via the Flywire payment portal. This option will be listed for the country you are paying from if it is available.
Union Pay cards are also only accepted by using the University of South Wales Flywire payment platform .
